Vanino Seaport finished its icebreaker support period

Under Resolution No. 119/A of 29 March 2020 adopted by the captain of the Vanino Seaport the icebreaker support period at the Vanino Seaport and the approaches towards it ended on 30 March 2020,

The Kapitan Khlebnikov and the Novorossiysk icebreakers under the management of the FSUE "Rosmorport" Vanino Branch provided icebreaker support to the Vanino seaport in line with the icebreaker positioning plan during the support period 2019-2020.

A total of 190 vessels have been led by icebreakers into and out of Vanino's seaport during the icebreaker support period. The volume of cargo transported by those vessels exceeded five million tons.

During the icebreaker support period, the ice conditions were characterized as complicated. In a scale of 1 to 10, the ice thickness level exceeded eight points

At the end of the icebreaker support period at Vanino Seaport, the Novorossiysk icebreaker arrived at Vladivostok seaport for the technical inspection and maintenance service to begin preparing the icebreaker for operation in the eastern Arctic region during the summer navigation year 2020.
