Prime minister of Vietnam confirms second port at Danang
The new terminal, which can accommodate ships of up to 8,000 teu, will be operational by 2025
The Vietnamese prime minister has approved a proposal to develop the Lien Chieu Port in Danang at a cost of more than VND3.4 trillion ($147 million), which will relieve congestion in the central Vietnamese port region.
Tien Sa, Danang's main port, is currently running at nearly full capacity.
Danang is the country's third-largest city, situated in the center of the country's coastline.
