Star Breeze was delivered to the Fincantieri shipyard in Palermo, marking the beginning of the expansion and modernisation of the Star Plus initiative project by Windstar Cruises.

A+A-

The $250 million program, comprising the 'Star Breeze', 'Star Legend' and 'Star Pride' cruise ships, envisaged three key complex areas of activity: the construction of a new mid-body 25.6 meters section; the complete redesign of propulsion engines and diesel generators for more environmentally friendly navigation; and the comprehensive upgrade of public areas, passenger cabins and ope cabins.

Star Breeze had a length of 134 meters with a tonnage of approximately 10,000 tons and a capacity of 212 passengers prior to the start of extension work. The ship now has a length of approximately 160 meters, a tonnage of approximately 13,000 tons, and a capacity to carry 312 passengers on board after its completion.

Thanks to the considerable experience gained in major naval projects planned and carried out on behalf of leading shipowners, Fincantieri has established itself as the worldwide reference point for this type of highly sophisticated activity via the "Ship Repair & Conversion" segment of the Services Division, consolidating Fincantieri's leadership in highly specialized naval transformation.
