"For the first time, we have fired an indigenous missile from an indigenous ship. Developed and produced by Roketsan, our first national maritime cruise missile ATMACA was successfully launched from TCG Kınalıada," the Turkish Presidency of Defense Industries has announced via Twitter.

As Turkey's fourth domestically built corvette, TCG KINALIADA was commissioned in September and ATMACA is expected to start her service with the Turkish military next year. Atmaca will be replaced by the American-made Harpoon ship-killer missile in the inventory.
