Samsung Heavy receives 361 bln-won order for three suezmax

Samsung Heavy will deliver three Suezmax shuttle tankers by July 2022. Suezmax refers to the largest ships that are capable of transiting the Suez Canal fully laden.

The three Suezmax shuttle tankers will be delivered to an unidentified shipper in Asia starting July 2022.

“Based on our smart technologies, we’ll keep reducing vessel operation costs and creating more eco-friendly solutions in line with stricter environmental regulations to raise our market dominance,” said a company official.

The shipbuilder aims to reach $8.4 billion this year, up 18 percent from last year's total orders of $7.1 billion.
