As announced, the ships will be used to transport LPG from Abu Dhabi to China.

ADNOC partnered up with the Chinese company Wanhua Chemical back in February 2019 to set up a joint venture company to own and operate LPG tankers after successful cooperation in LPG trading.

The fulfillment of the firm's orders is expected in the third and fourth quarters of 2022.

Under the contract, the client has the option of building two additional optional units.

Jiangnan Shipbuilding said that the ships will have a length of 230 metres, a width of 36.6 metres, and a size size of 11.5 metres.

The LPG dual-fuel main engine will be upgraded to comply with the current IGC Code, Tier III emission standards and the latest SOx emission specifications.

Jiangnan Shipbuilding has delivered six 84,000 cbm VLGCs to date this year and plans to deliver another two before the end of the year.

In addition to the three vessels just signed, another 7,86,000 cbm VLGCs are under construction at the yard.
