Approx. 7 000 vessels reach port of Klaipeda each year – most of them are met by maritime pilots before entering the port gate. This Port Authority employee gets into the vessel from the boat and links its equipment there to help the captain of the vessel enter the vessel safely into the port.
Another digital system that supports port processes is the miscellaneous spatial network of "PortGIS" digital map, installed several years ago in the port.
