The boxship pair is scheduled for shipment by the end of December 2022 under the $207 million (KRW 229 billion) contract.

On 5 January 2021, the shipbuilder began the year with an LNG carrier order.

The vessels will each have 13, 000 TEUs and sustainable technology such as selective catalytic reduction (SCRs), energy conservation equipment, smart ship solutions and the Ballast Water Management System (BWTS).

SHI has signed a shipbuilding deal with fellow shipping firm Pan Ocean for one LNG carrier.

The deal has a value of KRW 199 billion (about $183 million).
