Norway’s Wilhelmsen increases its stake in Edda Wind

Wilhelmsen has increased its stake in Edda Wind, a growing offshore wind company owned by the stensj Group.

A+A-

“Edda Wind is a growing company, rapidly expanding its fleet with future-focused emission free vessel technologies. Combined with expected growth in the offshore wind market, and complementing competencies and cultures, this makes up the reasoning for us increasing our shareholding in the company,” commented Thomas Wilhelmsen, CEO of Wilhelmsen.

Wilhelmsen has exercised an option to purchase another 25% stake since acquiring a 25% stake in September 2020.

Edda Wind, established in 2018, owns and operates service operation vessels that aid in the construction and maintenance of offshore wind farms. It already has two vessels on the water and four more on order, with two of the newbuilds already having long-term charter agreements.
