Nisshin Kaiun sells one of its scrubber fitted vessels, Cologny

This year Nisshin Kaiun has been in an active position, selling two capes. In the past couple of years, the company has pruned its cape arm.

The 11-year-old, 176,000 dwt, Namura-built King Ore for $20m, was first out the door. A contract for the nine-year-old, scrubber fitted vessel, Cologny, has now been signed by the privately owned Japanese shipping mammoth.

Brokers estimate that with Hamburg-based Valhal Shipping widely reported as the buyer, the Tsuneishi Cebu-built ship fetched about $23m.
