The vessel is the last in a series of four new-build traditional LNG carriers revealed at the end of June 2017 for the Yamal LNG project and has been named LNG Megrez after a star in the Ursa Major constellation.

For more projects, MOL has run 14 LNG carriers built in China and LNG Megrez will become the fifteenth LNG carrier built in Hudong to join the MOL fleet.

MOL has assigned technical experts to Hudong to form a shipbuilding supervisory team of approximately 40 members for the construction of the four new traditional LNG carriers for the Yamal LNG Project.

MOL said LNG Megrez is expected to be shipped on time from the shipyard amid problems caused by the pandemic.
