China Merchants starts strategic partnership with China Minmetals Corporation
A framework agreement to establish a strategic partnership with China Minmetals Corporation to start a series of collaborations has been signed by China Merchants Group.
Under the agreement, in the fields of shipping and logistics, port trade, subsea mine discovery and other financial and investment areas, the two parties will collaborate.
The Las Bambas copper mine in Peru is currently run by China Minmetals, with an annual throughput capacity of about 51 m tonnes, making it one of the largest copper mines in the world.
China Minmetals Corporation is a Chinese metals and mineral trading company headquartered in Beijing. It is a state-owned corporation under direct supervision of the State-owned Assets Supervision and Administration Commission.
China Merchants Group Limited is a multinational state-owned corporation of People's Republic of China. The company offers freight forwarding, professional logistics, port transportation, and other services. The world's largest ore carrier fleet of 34 capesized bulkers is owned by China Merchants.
