Abu Dhabi Ports to opens new route between Musaffah-based facility and Khalifa Port
Abu Dhabi Ports, part of ADQ has signed an agreement with Transportr Ltd to manage its inland container depot in Musaffah, provide handling facilities within the ICD and deliver fully inclusive transportation solutions for containers between the ICD and K
The agreement will not only boost the connectivity between the Transportr house facility within Ittihad Paper Mill LLC and the port of Khalifa, but will also help to minimize container transport costs while improving the supply chain's performance.
Transportr has already secured the movement of more than 15,000 TEUS from several leading manufacturers located in ICAD 1, 2 and 3 for 2021 and is projected to increase handling to more than 20,000 TEUs over the next year.
Under the new contract, Abu Dhabi Ports will develop its full logistical capabilities to supervise the inward and outward handling of cargo at Khalifa Port, the distribution of orders, the processing of customs documents and procedures, the handling of container terminals, the loading and unloading of vehicles, as well as the inspection of containers.
At the same time, as part of a deal providing shipping lines, local importers, and/or exporters the right to collect and unload containers inside the ICD, the company will provide ICD-related container handling services.
