15 crew members on board tested positive for COVID-19 in Singapore

All 15 are Filipinos, said the Singapore Government Press Centre.

The 15 crew members were on board a Bahamas-registered ship which arrived from India in Singapore on 8 August to carry out repairs and refueling.

All the crew members of the vessel did not disembark. Swabbing took place on board the ship, where they stayed until their COVID-19 test results returned.

The 15 positive-tested crew members were transported ashore and transported directly to the hospital with an ambulance. The remaining crew members are currently quarantined on board the vessel. Provisions shall be raised by the ship to the crew to avoid physical contact.

The ship is currently quarantined, without continuing activities, and will be thoroughly disinfected.
