The visit offered the opportunity for a courtesy call with WMU President Dr. Cleopatra Doumbia-Henry, as well as discussions regarding potential cooperation.

“We are always looking for ways to reach out and collaborate with industry. Our Canadian ties are strong and we welcome the opportunity to strengthen them even further based on our ongoing discussions with CFA,” stated President Doumbia-Henry.

Discussions with Professor Jens-Uwe Schröder-Hinrichs, Vice-President (Academic Affairs), and Professor Aykut Ölcer, Director of Maritime Research and Head of Maritime Energy Management, They focused on the issues facing ferry transport and the maritime sector in general today. In the future, WMU and CFA will discuss possible research cooperation, in particular, alternative fuels and emerging ferry and domestic ferry safety technology, as well as digitalization and gender equality.
