The Sustainable Travel Finland label awarded to the company acknowledges that Tallink completely meets the standards laid down by Visit Finland for economic , ecological, social and cultural sustainability.

”It was clear to us from the start that we wish to be a part of developing sustainable travel in Finland and spreading this message far and wide. We have fully met the various criteria of the label and have thoroughly acquainted ourselves with the Sustainable Travel Finland programme," said Margus Schults, CEO of Tallink Silja OY.

"Sustainable and responsible travel is the very lifeline to us as a shipping company and we are constantly striving to be better as there are always new heights to be reached and the work is ongoing”, he added.

Together with its sustainable development agenda, the Sustainable Travel Finland label aims to grow the sustainable travel sector in Finland, to better promote Finland as a sustainable travel destination, to help travelers choose their travel destinations and to strengthen cooperation in the field of sustainable travel within the tourism sector, municipalities and other sectors.

Approximately 50 Finnish companies in the tourism sector or tourist regions in Finland have earned the mark so far.

In the northern part of the Baltic Sea region, AS Tallink Grupp is one of the leading providers of passenger transport and cargo transport services. The business owns 15 ships and operates seven ferry routes under the Tallink and Silja Line brand names.
