MSC to provide connection between Asia and Pacific West Coast
MSC has agreed to streamline its Santana service by eliminating the Vancouver call, which offers exclusive Pacific South West coverage to Los Angeles, in order to adapt to the current competitive market conditions affecting port activities.

In the meantime, MSC will launch the Chinook service in order to continue serving Vancouver, providing direct connections between China, South Korea and Vancouver, Canada. This new service complements the Santana service, offering MSC the ability to give its customers additional options.
With the MSC Margarita voyage UK052A, ETA Yantian, on 22 December 2020, the Chinook service will commence its rotation in China.
The two services will have rotations as follows:
- Santana: Yantian – Shanghai – Los Angeles – Yantian
- Chinook: Yantian – Shanghai – Busan – Vancouver – Yantian
