MSC Cruises announced today that on January 24, it will resume operations in the Mediterranean with the Grandiosa.

The company was forced to cancel its sailings on 10 January and 17 January, citing the extension to 15 January of the restrictive measures relating to travel within Italy laid down in the most recent Italian government decree banning access to and use of ports of embarkation.

The company announced that the first cruise of MSC Grandiosa would depart from Genoa on Sunday 24 January following the temporary suspension of service in connection with the introduction of the same steps during the Christmas and end-of-year festivities.

The ship will resume scheduled weekly cruises leaving Genoa every Sunday, calling at the Italian ports of Civitavecchia, Naples, Palermo and Valetta in Malta.

The company has announced that MSC Grandiosa will sell these itineraries until 21 March, after which it will stay in the Western Mediterranean to offer cruises with a new itinerary from the summer schedule.
