Kari Wilkinson becomes president of Ingalls Shipbuilding

Huntington Ingalls Industries (HII) announced that Kari Wilkinson has been named executive vice president and president of HII's Ingalls Shipbuilding division by the company's board of directors.

Kari Wilkinson, who will report to HII executive vice president and COO Chris Kastner, currently serves as Ingalls’ vice president, program management.

Wilkinson started her career as an associate naval architect with Ingalls in 1996. Since then, she has worked in Engineering to help major shipbuilding production events and milestones, collaborated with Business Development on specifications and preliminary ship designs for domestic and foreign customers, and directed the prioritization of equipment and processes in Operations during the Hurricane Katrina recovery effort.

Wilkinson began his career in program management in 2007 as a ship program manager for the San Antonio-class LPD program, eventually rising to vice president of program management in 2016.

She has benefit and loss responsibility for all aspects of program execution in this current position, as well as serving as the primary liaison to the Navy and Coast Guard for all platforms in the Ingalls portfolio.
