Guided-missile destroyer USS Thomas Hudner departs Black Sea

According to the Twitter account of US Naval Forces Europe-Africa/US 6th Fleet, the Arleigh Burke-class guided-missile destroyer USS Thomas Hudner (DDG 116) transited from the Black Sea to the Mediterranean Sea.

"USS Thomas Hudner departs the Black Sea after completing its participation in the Romanian-led exercise Sea Shield 2021 and conducting maritime security operations in support of NATO Allies - Turkey, Bulgaria and Romania – and Partners in the region Ukraine and Georgia," US Navy stated.

On March 20, 2021, the USS Thomas Hudner arrived in the Black Sea to conduct presence operations and take part in Sea Shield 21, a multinational naval exercise organized by Romania that included ships from nine different nations conducting operations across the entire spectrum of naval warfare.

During Sea Shield 21, the USS Thomas Hudner worked alongside the USS Monterey (CG 61).
