The French shipbuilder announced on 16 December that it has signed memorandum of understanding (MOU) accords with nine Australian firms. Naval Group's agreements include those with New South Wales-based Archer Enterprises to support precision machining and fabrication, and with Axiom Precision Manufacturing, which is based in South Australia, to produce precision electro-mechanical components.

Naval Group has signed MoUs with: Archer Enterprises: precision CNC Machining, Fabrication, Assembly and Testing of Complex Mechanical Components, Assemblies & Sub-Systems, Including Electrical Control Integration for Performance Critical Applications.

Canto decoys generate high-level acoustic signals covering the full frequency range of an attacking torpedo, confusing the attacker and causing it to miss its target. The system computes the most appropriate evasive manoeuvre and deployment sequence once a threat is detected.
