Chinese vessel caught fire, 18 seamen rescued

Chinese fishing vessel JIN XIANG 6 burned out on Aug 16 in South Pacific W of Tuvalu.

The vessel was located by a Royal New Zealand Air Force P-3K2 Orion. 17 crew member were rescued by sister fishing vessel JIN XIANG 7 with one left unfound.

The man was found after the Orion was re-tasked this morning to search for the crew members who had been reported overboard. Condition of the fishing vessel which belongs to HUANQIU TUNA FISHING CO. LTD. is unclear for now.
