The rescued seafarers who went adrift for four hours were Raymond Cotiangco, Arnold Española, Rene Fernandez, and Ryan Parungao, according to GMA News. Ship captain Charlemagne Tambago is still missing.

Citing incident information, the Ilocos Norte PCG station commander said the cargo vessel capsized due to rough seas, 56 nautical miles from Calayan Island last December 19 at about 11 a.m.

Rescued crewmen stated that the ship captain was able to issue an abandon ship call, prompting them to jump ship. However the seamen had lost sight of him until crew members of a passing ship came and saved them.  M.V. Fomento II arrived and rescued them.
