US Coast Guard helps 7 people after boat collision near Fort Pierce

On Wednesday, approximately 13 miles east of Fort Pierce, a Coast Guard Station Fort Pierce crew supported seven individuals after their vessels collided and started taking on water.

The seven individuals were embarked by a Coast Guard Station Fort Pierce 45-foot Response Boat-Medium ship crew and transported them safely without medical issues to Station Fort Pierce.

At approximately 7:30 pm, Coast Guard Sector Miami watchstanders received a warning of a vessel collision from a good Samaritan reporting that both vessels near Fort Pierce were taking on water.

The 29-foot vessel was separated from the stern of the 30-foot vessel by commercial rescue teams, securing the flooding and safely towing both vessels to Taylor Creek.
