Turkey's Derin Denizcilik exits shipowning

Turkish shipowner Derin Denizcilik Gemi's brief foray has come to a end.

Broker sources inform Splash247 that the three-ship, powerful bulker player has agreed to let go of all his ships, selling the 8-year-old DD Karadeniz, DD Ege and DD Marmara for about $30 m en bloc.

Towards the end of last year, the Istanbul-based firm quietly bought up the three STX Jinhae's supramaxes from the Dutch Zeeland Shipping outfit for an undisclosed price.

Derin Denizcilik was a brokerage firm operating in Istanbul for more than 17 years. The company were located in Turkey, surrounded by the Mediterranean, Aegean, the Sea of Marmara and the Black Sea.
