Tanker Blast In Russia's Nakhodka Bay, 3 seamen died

A mixture of gas and air went off on board an oil tanker in Nakhodka Bay in Japan Sea, leaving three people dead.

Explosion occurred on board of Russian-flagged bunker tanker ZALIV AMERIKA in cargo tanks in Nakhodka Port waters, near Mys Astafyev Cape, Russia, Japan sea. A spokesperson of the Nakhodka Port Authority stated that the blast took place on board.

The source added that several ships were participating in search of the missing sailor which later found dead, including the Kapitan Sokolov vessel and two tugboats.

Tanker was towed from explosion site at Nakhodka port entrance to tankers anchorage.
