Taiwanese container shipping major Wan Hai Lines resales boxship pair

Taiwanese container shipping giant Wan Hai Lines has taken over two 1,800 teu boxships under construction through a reselling deal at China's Zhoushan Changhong International Shipbuilding.

Malaysian company MTT Shipping originally ordered the two vessels, Hull 2001 and Hull 2002, in 2018. According to VesselsValue database, Wan Hai purchased the two vessels at a $17.7 m valuation. The vessels are expected to be shipped in October.

Wan Hai currently operates a fleet of 105 container ships with a total capacity of about 292,000 teu making it the 12th largest container line in the world, according to Alphaliner.
