Swan Hellenic to require staff and crew to be vaccinated against COVID-19

Swan Hellenic has announced that all its workers and crew will need to be vaccinated against COVID-19. The start-up brand plans to launch a service with Minerva later this year.

"This decisive action to protect staff and guests on the iconic cultural expedition cruise pioneer’s new ice-class ships completes an industry-leading package of health measures to ensure a safe environment onboard," the company stated.

The company confirmed that in accordance with current local guidelines and approved medical protocols, the vaccination cycle will be carried out at recruitment centers or in the home countries of the crew members.

In a press release, Swan Hellenic emphasized that its three new ships are being designed to the highest standards with the very latest hygiene technology; all on-board air conditioning plants, for example, are UV sanitized.

Furthermore, all Swan Hellenic workers are, of course, trained and supervised in the execution of all the procedures and practices defined by industry standards required by the authorities at the time of sailing, including routine daily pre-boarding and on-board tests, as well as thorough sanitization of the public areas of the ships, staterooms, technical areas and crew and staff quarters.

Swan Hellenic guests can book with absolute confidence for more peace of mind in these turbulent times, knowing that they are covered by a no-quibble cancellation policy that allows cancellations up to 30 days before departure, including a two-year Future Cruise Credit.
