Singapore to receive its first LNG bunkering vessel

The first liquefied natural gas (LNG) bunkering ship in Singapore, FueLNG Bellina, has been delivered by Keppel Offshore & Marine Ltd (Keppel O&M) to FueLNG.

Constructed in the Nantong shipyard of Keppel O&M, FueLNG Bellina is Keppel O&M's second LNG bunkering vessel and fifth dual-fuel vessel.

The vessel will provide LNG bunkers to LNG-powered vessels calling at the Port of Singapore, thereby facilitating the adoption of LNG as a marine fuel and Singapore's development as a global hub for LNG bunkers.

As previously reported, the vessel's first contracts will be to provide the Shell-chartered tankers and one of Hapag Lloyd's container vessels with ship-to-ship LNG bunkering.

FueLNG will also supply LNG bunkering from the first dedicated LNG bunkering facility in Singapore scheduled for construction by Keppel O&M at its Floating Living Lab.

Shell will provide the facility with LNG when it becomes operational at the end of 2021.

Designed by the technology arm of Keppel O&M, Keppel Marine and Deepwater Technology (KMDTech), to its patented MTD 7500U LNG specification, the vessel has an extended flat barge-like surface to provide a wide range of vessels with a bunker.
