Shenzhen-based Equator Fund orders LNG carrier at China Merchants Heavy

Equator Fund, based in Shenzhen, has signed a contract with China Merchants Heavy Industry to develop a 45,000 cubic meter LNG carrier.

The ship will be built to the LNT A-Box concept, with a delivery date of 2023. It is expected to provide shipping facilities for clean energy companies in the United States.

In the meantime, Equator Fund is in talks with China Merchants Heavy about a new LNG carrier order of 79,000 cu m.

Equator Fund, which is headed by seasoned shipping lawyer Vincent Xu, primarily invests in the shipping, logistics, and offshore industries.
