Samsung Heavy to launch GasLog LNG newbuild

A new liquefied natural gas carrier has been unveiled by South Korea's shipbuilding company Samsung Heavy Industries for Greece-based LNG shipper GasLog.

LNG carrier GasLog Galveston's launching event (SN2301) was conducted on May 30th at the Korean yard.GasLog says it expects the 174,000 cubic meter vessel to take delivery by the end of October 2020.

In August 2018 the LNG shipper ordered the vessel back together with a sister vessel. US LNG export player Cheniere chartered both ships for seven years.

Gaslog has two additional 180,000 cbm LNG carriers chartered at Samsung by Cheniere upon request.

In the course of next year this X-DF LNG carrier pair will join GasLog 's fleet.
