Russian Navy ship arrives Sri Lanka

Sri Lanka Navy has welcomed the Russian Navy training ship, Perekop of the Baltic Fleet arrived at the port of Hambanthota on a goodwill visit.

A delegation comprising the Defence Attaché of the Embassy of the Russian Federation in Sri Lanka, Colonel Denis I. Shkoda and a group of officers from the Sri Lanka Navy were also present on this occasion.

During the three-day visit, the crew members of the ship will take part in friendly sporting events as well as cultural programs organized by the Sri Lanka Navy. Further, they are scheduled to visit some of the tourist attractions in the country as well.

The 138m long and 17m wide training ship has a displacement of 6,900 tons and she is commanded by Commander Roman PAKHOMOV. The crew of the ship includes 399 naval personnel.
