Nuclear-powered container carrier vessel unloaded cargo for Arctic

The nuclear-powered container carrier Sevmorput completed the process of unloading the materials and equipment under the Arctic LNG 2 project on 4 April 2020, FSUE Atomflot's press center says.

More than 20,000 tons of general cargo was shipped by Sevmorput to Utrenneye: reinforced concrete and metal frames, tubular, building equipment and domestic electrical machinery.

The nuclear-powered container carrier had no help on its way from Arkhangelsk to the point of unloading, according to Leonid Irlits, Atomflot's Manager for Shipping.

Previously, nuclear-powered icebreaker Vaygach had built a path for the container carrier to reach and unload the cargo onto the shore ice.
