Marine fuels solutions company Peninsula receives its 1st LNG bunker deal

Peninsula, a marine fuel solutions company, said that its first ever supply of liquefied natural gas (LNG) bunkers was a record breaker.

Peninsula completed its first supply of LNG bunkers to H-Line Shipping in Malaysian waters at the end of January, in collaboration with PETRONAS Marine, marking the first delivery of LNG bunkers to the world's largest LNG-powered bulk carrier, the eco-friendly 180,000 dwt HL Green, on its inaugural voyage. It ranks among the largest LNG bunker deliveries to date, at 2,760 cubic meters.

Having recently announced the launch of its LNG bunkering, small-scale LNG sector and Global Sustainability Initiative, Peninsula said it is working on several deals at global strategic bunkering locations.

In addition, the company announced that it plans to build its own LNG bunkering vessels and is currently in discussions to execute its strategy with several shipowners and shipyards.

“Delivery took place safely and was completed within 20 hours, a record time for the quantity supplied, including the cooling down of an LNG tank,” said Nacho De Miguel, Peninsula’s LNG Leader.
