K Line announced today that starting April 1, it will create a new carbon-neutral promotion party. The new organization will look for ways to expand its future net-zero-emissions companies.
In recent years, K Line has been working hard to advance emissions-cutting technology. Last year, it joined bluechips including Toyota and Toshiba in joining the Japan Hydrogen Association (JH2A), a group that promotes global cooperation and the creation of a hydrogen supply chain in the region.
K Line began testing and measurements for what it says is the world's first small scale ship-based CO2 capture demonstration plant in August of last year.
Carbon Capture on the Ocean is a two-year project that will transform an existing CO2 capture device for an onshore power plant to a submarine.
K Line ordered 50 Seawings in 2019, the single largest order for wind propulsion technology in merchant shipping history.
