Egypt reopens Red Sea commercial ports and one fishing port

The Red Sea Ports Authority said that Egypt has reopened three Red Sea commercial ports and a fishing port that were shut down earlier on Wednesday due to high winds and rough seas.

Suez, Zeitiyat, Adabiya and the fishing port of al-Ataka are the reopened ports.

The authorities and sources said that two other ports, Nuweiba and Ain al-Sokhna, remained closed.

The Authority reported that the wind speed varies between 20-25 knots per hour and the waves swell to 2-3 meters in the Red Sea, while the sea sees rough conditions.

Due to the country's exposure to a wave of powerful winds that will last for 3 days, the Egyptian Meteorological Authority (EMA) warned about the weather today, Wednesday.

The weather is witnessing strong winds that stir sand and dust across the region, meteorologists said.
