CSSC Guijiang to build 50 LNG-powered bulkers for GNG Ocean

CSSC Guijiang Shipbuilding was chosen in a tender for the construction of 50 small river LNG-powered bulkers by Chinese state-owned GNG Ocean Shipping.

Last month, the company published a tender for the construction of 25 2,000 dwt bulkers and another twenty five 3,000 dwt bulkers.

The project is expected to cost about RMB660 million ($101 million), and construction will begin before May 1, 2021, and end before March 31, 2022, according to the company. The ships will be used to provide shipping services on the Pearl River.

CSSC Guijiang Shipbuilding is a military shipyard that specializes in the construction of small river vessels.
