Costa Cruises postpones restart of Italy program to March

Costa Cruises has agreed to postpone the restart of its ships until 13 March 2021, following what it called a thorough review of the steps found in the Italian government decree currently in effect in Italy.

On 13 March, Costa will resume operations with 3- and 4-day mini-cruises on the Costa Smeralda, or with a 7-day cruise to Savona, La Spezia, Civitavecchia, Naples, Messina and Cagliari.

Both cruises originally scheduled between February 1 and March 12, 2021, on the Costa Deliziosa, Costa Firenze and Costa Luminosa will be cancelled.

The new programs will be revealed shortly for these three ships. Costa is informing travel agencies and guests impacted by the changes during the process.

"Costa Cruises supports the collective effort that Italy is making to deal with the health emergency and looks forward to mid-March for its return to offering its guests a relaxing and enjoyable vacation experience," the company announced in a press release.
