CMA CGM continues operations after cyber attack

French container shipping company CMA CGM Group announced that after a cyber attack hit its servers on Monday, its maritime and port activities were working normally.

After making its e-business website inaccessible on Monday, CMA CGM is providing alternative access to clients in order to avoid the spread of malware, the group said.

"All communications to and from the CMA CGM Group are secure, including emails, transmitted files and electronic data interfaces (EDI)," the company stated.

As a precautionary measure to avoid the spread of malware, the group said it had disrupted all external access to its network and computer applications. It stated that the malware was quickly isolated and that all protective measures had been placed in place.

An investigation, conducted by internal and independent experts, is underway.
