China United Lines adds two more boxships to its fleet

Rapidly expanding Huangpu Wenchong Shipbuilding has exercised an option to build two 1,930 teu feeder boxships for China United Lines (CU Lines).

The choice was attached to an order placed by CU Lines in January for the construction of two vessels of the same sort, according to Huangpu Wenchong.

Huangpu Wenchong's bangkokmax concept will be used on the vessels, which will be deployed in the Southeast Asian market.

Last month, CU Lines, mainly an intra-Asian carrier, joined the Asia-Europe tradelane.
