The drug has a street value estimated at 105 billion won (US$93.94 million) and is enough to be taken simultaneously by 1 million people, the authorities said.
The packages were discovered on a Liberia-flagged vessel leaving Colombia on Dec. 15 and arriving at Busan New Port on January 19. Their envelopes had a scorpion-shaped emblem, which Colombian drug cartels commonly use, Coast Guard stated.
After being tipped off that a large amount of cocaine was hidden there, the authorities monitored the 140,000-ton vessel.
There were Greek, Russian and Ukrainian crew members on the ship.
