SAFEEN FEEDERS will create a new feeder service linking Abu Dhabi to ports serving the UAE, the wider Gulf region and the Indian Sub-Continent. The operation will be conducted through a vessel sharing arrangement in collaboration with feeder service operator Bengal Tiger Line (BTL).
The service will allow container cargo to be exchanged between mainliner vessels and the vessels in rotation calling at nine regional ports across the UAE, Saudi Arabia , Bahrain, Pakistan, and Western India.
The pendulum service of SAFEEN FEEDERS, known as the UAE-Indian Sub-Continent Gulf Service (UIG), will be supplied by three 2,700 TEU vessels through the following 21-day rotating call: Khalifa Port; Jebel Ali Port; Karachi; (Kandla); Mundra; Nhava Sheva; Khalifa Port; Jebel Ali Port; Bahrain; Dammam; Jubail; and, Khalifa Port.
Abu Dhabi Ports and Bengal Tiger Line plan to extend the service to the ports in the broader Gulf area in the medium term. The new company is pursuing more business opportunities at container terminals in the Red Sea and East Africa regions over the long term.
